05-12-2008: Stable sheet thickness measurement
A special micrometer for measuring the thickness of sheet strips is new from Micro-Epsilon. This system is very simple to integrate in existing production lines as the installation space requirements are very small thanks to the particularly slim design. The sensors used make possible particularly high precision and rapid data acquisition. The micrometer has an automatic calibration function in order to ensure maximum accuracy.

05-12-2008: 2nd place for the sensor application prize
Together with Rectibel Automobilsysteme, Micro-Epsilon was honoured in the context of the German sensor application prize at the SPS|IPC|DRIVES exhibition. Companies which implement sensors in applications with particularly high utility value are honoured. Mr. Huysentruyt from Recticel accepted the prize at the exhibition.

05-12-2008: Application example: Angle measurement on operating tables
Electrical adjustment has become the standard for new types of operating tables. These movements must be checked and also especially that preprogrammed positions can be approached. Draw-wire sensors from Micro-Epsilon which also measure the respective angles of the couch are used for this.

04-11-2008: OEM draw-wire sensors now provide up to 7500 mm measuring range
The newest model of the OEM draw-wire sensor series has the name wireSENSOR MK120. The new MK120 currently provides the largest measuring range of up to 7.5 m in the low-cost draw-wire sensors segment. The MK120 is ideally suitable for use in series production where high volumes are the standard. Despite the high requirements, this model is much smaller than comparable draw-wire sensors.

04-11-2008: New laser micrometers in the range
Two new through-beam sensors supplement the range of optical micrometers. A doubling of the measuring range to 100 mm makes new applications possible. The models in the optoCONTROL 1202 series provide astonishing performance data and a high degree of flexibility for factory automation and process control.

30-10-2008: Autumn exhibitions with Micro-Epsilon
Make new contacts, nurture existing contacts, learn about benefits of the new products or simply become familiar with the largest range worldwide of displacement measurement technology: there are many reasons to visit Micro-Epsilon at an exhibition. This Autumn, you can find us at the electronica in Munich and at SPS/IPC/Drives in Nürnberg.

15-09-2008: Application example: pipe measurement
It is often very difficult to obtain measured values from the inside of pipes when inspecting them for quality. Laser sensors from Micro-Epsilon play an important role here in verifying that pipes, fittings and sleeves comply with predetermined values. A special solution is required because of the unusual arrangement of the sensors.

15-09-2008: Versatile draw-wire sensor
90° wire deflection and also a variable measuring range. This is only provided by the WDS-70-F50 draw-wire sensor from Micro-Epsilon. 70mm maximum measuring range is freely selectable within the 150mm wire length. A rotary potentiometer also enables maximum resolution to be achieved across the complete measuring range.

15-09-2008: Eddy current for speed measurement
Turbochargers are now an important component in automotive engines, both for fuel consumption and environmental reasons. The devices are not only present in diesel vehicles, but also increasingly in petrol engines. Aside from the angle of the guide vanes, the speed of the vanes on the turbine wheel is critical for optimum performance of the turbocharger.
