Wind power industry brochure

Different ways of using sensors in wind turbines are described in the "Displacement and position measurement for wind turbines" brochure. The brochure explains the specific benefits associated with the use of specific sensors and describes the various sensors that certain applications require. A good example here are the opportunities opened up by operational monitoring, which is made possible by using infrared temperature sensors. The thermoMETER CT sensors are used, among other things, for measuring the temperature of the generator windings and the rotor transmission. Any unusual temperature trends might suggest there is a technical problem, which can then be resolved before any major repairs become necessary. In this way, operational downtime can be kept to a minimum. In addition to temperature measurement, other sensors can be used to measure displacement or profiles for quality assurance purposes during component manufacture and testing.
