Robot-guided Measurement Technology

C:\Documents and Settings\11000487\Desktop\PR237_Robotergeführte Messtechnik-35px

Micro-Epsilon Messtechnik offers a number of methods for robot measurement tasks. In particular, these are used for wide area, high-precision measurements and where there are increased flexibility requirements. Non-contact sensor data guides the tools or devices attached to the robot arms. For example, a laser sensor can be used for dynamic distance measurements when applying adhesive beads to car roof rails or windscreens.

On 16.01.2012 Micro-Epsilon Messtechnik GmbH &Co. KG, based in Ortenburg, Germany, named a new Board of Management. After 35 years, Dipl.-Ing. Karl Wisspeintner handed the management of the company over to his successor Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Sellen who will be responsible for production and development, while recent Deputy CEO Dipl.-Phys. Johann Salzberger will be looking after the company's financial matters.

Displacement sensors with a blue laser

Micro-Epsilon presents at first a triangulation sensor that utilise Blue Laser technology. In numerous applications, Blue Laser sensors are superior to standard sensors that use a red laser diode.

Novel approach to displacement measurement for hydraulic cylinders eliminates need for costly drilling

ME110-wire-hydraulic-35px

Two companies have developed a completely new approach to measuring the displacement of hydraulic cylinders. By integrating a draw-wire displacement sensor inside the cylinder, piston rods no longer have to be deep bore drilled using specialist equipment, irrespective of cylinder stroke length, says Thomas Birchinger, Product Manager Draw-Wire Sensors at Micro-Epsilon.

3D Laser Profile Scanner now with optional Ethernet Connectivity

ME108-scanCONTROL2710-35px

Micro-Epsilon has launched a new version of its popular 3D laser profile scanner, the scanCONTROL 2700, which is now available with an Ethernet interface as standard. FireWire is still available if preferred.

New laser sensor withstands harsh food processing environments

Micro-Epsilon has launched a new version of its optoNCDT 1402 laser sensor. The new optoNCDT 1402SC sensor has a stainless steel housing and is protected to IP69K, making it ideal for measuring displacement, distance and position in harsh environments, including outdoor use, food processing and other harsh process manufacturing applications.

Custom eddy current and draw wire sensors for subsea oil & gas applications

At this year’s Instrumentation Scotland & Offshore Systems 2010 exhibition (8-9 September 2010) precision sensor manufacturer Micro-Epsilon (UK) Ltd (stand 703) will be showcasing a range of displacement sensors and non-contact temperature measurement products for subsea, oil & gas applications, including draw wire sensors, eddy current displacement sensors, thermal imagers and inline process temperature sensors.

Embedded coil technology radically improves temperature stability and miniaturisation of displacement sensors

Precision sensor manufacturer Micro-Epsilon has developed a unique technology for use with eddy current and capacitive displacement sensors. These new technologies and manufacturing methods enable a wide variety of custom sensors to be produced, which are not only capable of operating in higher temperatures, but which also benefit from low thermal expansion (thermal drift) and extremely compact conditioning electronics.

Robot sensor system monitors height and width of adhesive on vehicle glass

A new, innovative high-speed inspection system has been developed for the automotive industry, which monitors the quality of polyurethane (PU) beads as they are applied to glass during vehicle assembly.

Compact, inline thermal imager gets even more features and a rental option

Micro-Epsilon has now enhanced its inline infrared thermal imaging camera with a host of new features, accessories and mounting options, including a protective enclosure that allows the device to operate in ambient temperatures up to 200 deg C – making the unit ideal for monitoring the temperature of steel, ceramics and glass.

Micro-Epsilon lends its voice to the ‘Make it in Manufacturing’ Campaign

ME101-Picture_1--35px

Precision sensor manufacturer Micro-Epsilon (UK) Ltd has announced its support for the Manufacturing Institute’s Make It in Manufacturing campaign, in order to help attract more young people into manufacturing-related careers in the North West of England.

Manufacturer of induction heaters selects infrared temperature sensors from Micro-Epsilon

ME99_Picture1--35px

Non-contact infrared temperature sensors from Micro-Epsilon are being used on a range of medium and high frequency induction heaters in order to measure the temperature of metal components during heat treatment. The sensors were selected due to a range of factors, including low cost, compactness and interchangeability.

Electronics key to new, unique magneto-inductive displacement sensor

A unique range of displacement measurement sensors has been developed, which combines the robustness and proven measurement performance of eddy current sensor technology with the latest printed coil and permanent magnet technology.
