Needle lift sensor in common rail diesel engines

Modern diesel engines with Common Rail technology have an injector for fuel injection. The movement of the needle in the injector must show maximum precision for best combustion processes. The movement is measured using an integrated eddy current sensor. The combustion can be further optimised with perfectly matched injection cycles.
