The user now simply connects the eddy sensor to the 3100 controller, and all calibration data is automatically uploaded from the sensor to the controller. There is no need for lengthy calibration. Additionally, all calibration data required for both ferrous (St37) and non ferrous (aluminium) target materials is also stored in the sensor before shipment, the user simply selects which material is to be measured. User specific target materials a can also be measured accurately with the Micro-Epsilon ‘push button’ 3 point linearisation The eddyNCDT 3100 controller is also equipped with many new features including Ethernet connection for output signal and configuration. The configuration of the controller can be performed from the user’s web browser by simply typing in the controller IP address – no additional software is required to be downloaded. The controller has its own in-built, simple to use graphical user interface. All controllers are shipped with a default IP address which can be later changed to a specific IP by the user. The eddyNCDT 3100 controller has also been designed for industrial use. It is manufactured from aluminium, robust, sealed to IP65, compact and has analogue outputs 4-20mA, 0-10V, -5+5V and built in hardware trigger. The controller is also equipped with status LED’s which give automatic status updates and fault diagnostics. The eddyNCDT 3100 controller has also been designed to be either a single or multi channel system, with Synch-IN and Synch-OUT connections for multiple channels to prevent mutual interference. The eddy current sensors for the eddyNCDT 3100 system also have many new features including pressure resistant front faces, stainless steel construction and ultra-flexible Teflon coated cables. Additionally to the standard sensor ranges, Micro-Epsilon can supply custom bespoke sensors for volume applications.
