String pot sensors of the series wireSENSOR measure linear movements. The highly flexible steel cable of the string pot sensor is wounded on a drum which axis is coupled to a potentiometer or encoder. The cable head is mounted on the measuring object. If the distance of the measuring target regarding the string pot sensor changes, a rotary motion of the drum is generated which is converted into an electrical signal by an encoder or potentiometer and subsequently output.
Our sensors are suitable for wide measuring ranges and industrial use. The use of high quality components guarantees a long life cycle and high operational reliability.
