Precision sensor supplier Micro-Epsilon has expanded its capaNCDT series of capacitive displacement sensors to include sensors for extremely demanding operating conditions, including ultra-high vacuums, clean rooms, strong magnetic fields and extreme temperatures.
The new capaNCDT CSH/SE series includes 5 cylindrical sensors and 7 models with a flat design with measuring ranges from 0.2 mm to 5 mm. The sensors are based on the proven CSH standard sensors and offer an almost identical design and cable dimensions. At the same time, their design is optimised for especially demanding operating conditions.
The capaNCDT series of capacitive displacement sensors stand for maximum precision, stability and versatility. With resolutions as small as 0.03 nm, compact design, multi-channel capability and OEM-compatible solutions, the portfolio is suitable for a wide range of applications in industry, research and development. This globally unique product range also covers extreme temperature ranges from -270 °C to +800 °C and offers suitable sensors for standard and special applications.
Designed for extreme conditions
The new SE sensors cover a temperature range of -270 °C to +200 °C and provide excellent temperature stability. Due to their non-magnetic titanium housing, they are particularly suitable for applications near strong magnetic fields, for example, in research, cryogenics and aerospace applications. The integrated cable is extremely low-outgassing, temperature-resistant and mechanically resilient.
Optimised for vacuums and clean rooms
For use in vacuum and clean room applications, the SE sensors are specially cleaned before delivery. The material selection is designed for the lowest possible contamination and is optimally prepared for residual gas analyses. This makes the sensors suitable for ultra-high vacuum applications down to 10-10 mbar, for example, in particle accelerators, semiconductor plants and chemical vapour deposition processes.
New gap sensors for more integration freedom
In addition to the SE sensors, Micro-Epsilon has also expanded its portfolio of capacitive gap sensors. The new CSG-0.5/CRg2.0, CSG-1/CRg2.0 and CSG-1/90/CRg2.0 models offer a significantly more compact design than previous CSG sensors. Due to a measuring surface that extends off to the side, the CSG-1/90/CRg2.0 sensor also demonstrates the high adaptability of the sensors. This allows precise, reliable gap measurements to be made even in extremely limited installation spaces. In line with the portfolio expansion, the completely revamped capaNCDT catalogue includes new content, illustrations and visualisations.
